Refund policy
At The Lucky Jig, customer satisfaction is important to us. If you are not fully satisfied with your purchase, please review the following policy carefully before initiating a return or exchange.
1. Return Eligibility
1.1 Return Window
Eligible items may be returned within fourteen (14) calendar days from the date the order is marked as delivered by the carrier.
1.2 Condition Requirements
To qualify for a return, items must:
- Be unused, uninstalled, and unmodified
- Be in original condition
- Include all original packaging, tags, accessories, manuals, and components
- Be free from damage, odors, markings, or signs of wear
- Include proof of purchase or order confirmation
Items returned that do not meet these conditions may be rejected or subject to a partial refund at our sole discretion.
1.3 Return Authorization Required
All returns require prior authorization from The Lucky Jig.
To request a return authorization, contact us at support@theluckyjig.com with:
- Your order number
- Item(s) being returned
- Reason for return
- Photos if applicable
Unauthorized returns may be refused and returned to sender.
1.4 Inspection Process
All returned items are subject to inspection upon receipt. We reserve the right to determine whether returned merchandise qualifies for a refund, exchange, store credit, or rejection.
2. Refunds
2.1 Approved Refunds
If your return is approved, a refund will be issued to the original payment method within approximately 5–10 business days after inspection and approval.
Processing times may vary depending on your bank or payment provider.
2.2 Non-Refundable Charges
The following are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error or a verified defective item:
- Original shipping charges
- Expedited shipping fees
- Route protection or shipping insurance fees (if applicable)
- Payment processing fees where prohibited by law
2.3 Reel Restocking Fee
Unspooled reels approved for return may be subject to a 10% restocking fee. Reels must be returned in new, unused condition with all original packaging, manuals, accessories, warranty cards, and components included.
Reels showing signs of installation on a rod, line spooling, use, lubrication, disassembly, modification, damage, or saltwater exposure are not eligible for return.
The Lucky Jig reserves the right to reject any reel return that does not meet these requirements.
2.4 Partial Refunds
We reserve the right to issue partial refunds for returned items that:
- Are not in original condition
- Are missing packaging or components
- Show signs of handling or installation
- Are returned outside the eligible return window
2.5 Refused Deliveries
Orders refused at delivery or returned due to incorrect shipping information provided by the customer may be subject to return shipping charges and restocking fees.
3. Exchanges
3.1 Exchange Requests
Eligible items may be exchanged for another item of equal or greater value, subject to product availability.
Customers are responsible for any price differences and applicable shipping charges.
3.2 Availability
Exchanges are not guaranteed until inventory is confirmed. If a replacement item is unavailable, we may issue store credit or a refund at our discretion.
4. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
4.1 Reporting Timeframe
Customers must notify us within seven (7) calendar days of delivery if an item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect.
Claims submitted after this timeframe may be denied.
4.2 Required Documentation
To process a claim, we may require:
- Photos of the item
- Photos of packaging materials
- Photos of shipping labels
- A description of the issue
Failure to provide requested documentation may delay or void the claim process.
4.3 Carrier Damage
Items damaged during shipping may require a carrier claim investigation before a refund or replacement is issued.
5. Non-Returnable / Final Sale Items
The following items are non-returnable and non-refundable unless defective upon arrival:
- Special order rods or reels
- Custom ordered products
- Rod blanks
- Spooled reels, including any reel that has had line installed
- Cut line, leader material, or bulk line
- Clearance items
- Gift cards
- Consumable items
- Opened personal care/hygiene products
- Items marked “Final Sale”
- Used fishing tackle or terminal tackle
- Products showing signs of saltwater exposure, installation, or use
6. Order Cancellations
Orders may only be canceled before shipment confirmation is issued.
Once an order has shipped, it is subject to the standard return policy.
Special orders and custom orders cannot be canceled once submitted to the manufacturer or supplier.
7. Shipping Responsibility
7.1 Return Shipping
Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs unless the return is due to:
- A verified defective product
- An incorrect item shipped by The Lucky Jig
7.2 Packaging Responsibility
Customers are responsible for properly packaging returned items. We are not responsible for damage occurring during return transit due to insufficient packaging.
We strongly recommend using a trackable shipping method and purchasing shipping insurance for high-value items.
8. Chargebacks & Fraud Prevention
We reserve the right to deny returns, refunds, or future orders in cases involving:
- Suspected fraud
- Abuse of the return policy
- Excessive return activity
- Returned merchandise that does not match the original order
- Chargebacks filed without first contacting us to resolve the issue
9. Limitation of Liability
The Lucky Jig shall not be liable for incidental, indirect, or consequential damages arising from the use or misuse of any products sold.
Customers are responsible for verifying product compatibility and intended use before purchase.
10. Policy Updates
The Lucky Jig reserves the right to modify this Return & Refund Policy at any time without prior notice. The version posted on our website at the time of purchase will govern the transaction.
